Why This Game?
Depending on the day, Resident Evil is one of two answers for my favorite video game series. I love these games and tend to go for the platinum in them whenever it seems feasible. Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best entries in the entire series and the current frontrunner for my game of the year for 2026, so I was excited to go for this platinum trophy. If it had been a little more difficult, like the Resident Evil 4 Remake platinum, I possibly might not have gone for it, but it seemed like one I could accomplish with the time available to me.
Was it Quick?
For a full-scale game I would say this one is on the faster side. It does require multiple play-throughs of the game in order to accomplish. I did it in four runs, but I think you could probably do it in less depending on how willing you are to use guides right out of the gate. My first play-through was a blind run for enjoyment, second was collectibles clean-up, third was speed run, and four was insanity mode. Overall I think it took me around 30-ish hours to get the platinum.

Was it Easy?
There are 50 trophies in Resident Evil Requiem. Many of them are going to pop naturally as you play, but there are a few that are a little more difficult. The Mr. Raccoon collectibles were especially tricky in this one and I ended up needing to consult a guide even though you can buy in-game currency to just put them on your map. Insanity mode is one of the hardest that I have seen in any of the Resident Evil games. Your handgun does not stagger zombies at all. Luckily, I had already unlocked unlimited ammo by that point and you can still pop the trophy while using it. Even then, you go down in basically one hit as Grace and it was still a tough as nails play through. I could see this as being a major block for some players out there, so no, it was not easy.

Was It Fun?
This game is a blast! I enjoyed the heck out of every single one of the four play throughs I did to get this platinum. I will ding it very slightly for a few sections where I got really stuck in Insanity mode. Particularly one of the sequences as Leon where zombies that have guns suddenly appear and just sap your health. Beyond that, each of my runs was fun for a different reason and I never got sick of playing Resident Evil Requiem the entire time.

Any Other Thoughts?
The Resident Evil games are not always an immediate lock for whether I am going to attempt a platinum. Some games, like Resident Evil 1 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake, just either take way too long or have trophies I’m not sure I could accomplish. Resident Evil Requiem is the perfect example of a trophy list that just managed to extend my time with a game I already loved and give me an excuse to play through it in ways I might not have otherwise. I look forward to seeing what kind of DLC this game gets in the future, but for now I will let it rest after popping that final trophy.
